Accomplishments in September 2017
PREP (Practical Refugee Education Program)
This month our brand-new livelihoods project has kicked into high gear. ARDC is now offering vocational classes and job placement to refugees. This opportunity will be available to 60 students and we hope the project will expand in the future to an even larger number of students. This is the only project in Israel that offers refugees certified vocational training.
CLA (Community Leadership & Advocacy)
This month we have been hard at work on our brand-new advocacy video which will premier in Oct. Stay tuned to our Facebook page for an exclusive look at the inside world of Eritrean style and beauty traditions.
We also had our Chairman, Osman Ali, greet our Facebook followers and wish a happy Jewish new year – the video reached almost 50,000 users and the engagement in the post was significant.
CORE (Community Outreach…)
This month, the community outreach team traveled to Netanya and conducted and information session for 32 community members! At the event, the community was informed on their legal rights, family reunification and higher education opportunities, and RSD information. Information sessions were also conducted with two support groups in Tel Aviv. Finally, the outreach team submitted the final 24 requests to the Ministry of Interior to reopen asylum claims that were previously rejected based on Clause 1. Next month, the community outreach team will be traveling to Petah Tikvah for an event!
